- Creates mistery or confusion for the viewers.
- Builds up suspence to leave views asking questions and wanting more
- Oftern only feature pictures or a 'tag line' from the movie with ominous texts.
- Sometimes don't actually include futtage from the movie.
- More commonly used for big budget films with a larger build up/fan base (eg. Saw films)

- A great deal longer than teasers
- Give away more of the plot
- Allows viewer to engage with protagonist
- Shows features from the genre to appeal to target audience
- Released closer to the release date of the movie
- Contains more footage from the movie
